On the way to the Sunshine Coast via the Bruce Highway keep your eye out for a turnoff to Wild Horse Mountain Lookout. Take a steep 20 minute walk to the top for fantastic views of the Glasshouse Mountains , pine plantations and the coast.
Here today, maybe gone tomorrow.
One thing that has changed in Brisbane city since our last visit is the further development of Fish Lane as a foodie and street art destination. There’s a street art map for most of the official wall murals. And plenty of unofficial art to discover for yourself.
The Silo art trail in Victoria is well-documented, so it’s easy to do some research before you hit the road. A silo is a structure that stores grain. In country Australia it can also be a massive canvas.
We didn’t have long in Dubbo, just enough time to check out the brewery and some street art and have a couple of meals. We had a wonderful brunch at Dahab Cafe before we left.
Utes in the paddock is worth a stop. Winner of a 2020 Australian Street Art award. The council is looking for more artists to contribute. BYO ute. They could do with a pop-up coffee van too. Just saying. (Top image is Circle Work – John Murray.)
We travelled from Wentworth to Broken Hill (Wiljali Country) via the Silver City Highway.
