The Paiwalla Wetland is a private reserve located between Mannum and Murray Bridge. Previously a dairy farm, it is now protected and serves as a refuge for flora and fauna. And snakes. SSSssss. A wonderful place to visit. Check out the website for details on how to get access. Ngarrindjeri country.

We went to check out a wildlife sighting on the outskirts of Adelaide. A southern right whale and her calf were in the sheltered waters of Christies Beach.

Some lovely coastline at Buddina – we bought takeaway fish and chips at Norma’s and enjoyed the fabulous view for free. Took a lovely walk from Moffat Beach to Kings Beach, via Shelly Beach which has some fab rock pools to explore.

On the way to the Sunshine Coast via the Bruce Highway keep your eye out for a turnoff to Wild Horse Mountain Lookout. Take a steep 20 minute walk to the top for fantastic views of the Glasshouse Mountains , pine plantations and the coast.
A month or so ago we took a walk at Warren Reservoir (part of the North Warren Reservoir Reserve Loop) as it was too chilly for kayaking. We saw a lot of mushrooms and a few mushroom pickers – hope they knew what they were doing…
