Marion Bay Spring visit
A few weeks ago we stayed at Marion Bay, on the edge of the Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park. Early spring is a wonderful time to visit to see baby emu chicks. And the coastline always looks beautiful, no matter what the weather.
SYP – day two
A moody morning made for some lovely views on day two. At Cape Spencer we interrupted a joey having breakfast.
Kangaroo Island 2
I’ve been very tardy posting the rest of my KI photos, I know. These are from a visit in October/November 2021. We were based in Penneshaw which worked well because we had plenty of time for day trips. Recovery from the fires is ongoing and when we visited they were still building boardwalks in FlindersContinue reading “Kangaroo Island 2”
City whale watching
We went to check out a wildlife sighting on the outskirts of Adelaide. A southern right whale and her calf were in the sheltered waters of Christies Beach.
Moffat Beachy 1
Morning views of Moffat Beach and nearby Dicky Beach.
Beachy
A visit to the beach a couple of weeks ago. Moonta Bay, post school holidays. It’s oh so quiet.
Cowell to Whyalla
At Cowell we stopped to check out some of the op shops, but we were mainly there to see the silo art. The mural features a local identity, Lionel Deer, and one of his camels, plus a Port Lincoln Parrot in flight. Artwork by NITSUA. We travelled on to Whyalla, spending a night there beforeContinue reading “Cowell to Whyalla”
Port Neill to Arno Bay
Port Neill has a lovely jetty and some excellent mosaic work on the foreshore. We just took a short walk but it looked like a great place to visit for a night or two. Our next major stop was the mangroves walk at Arno Bay. There are a number of different trails you can followContinue reading “Port Neill to Arno Bay”
West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula
Eyre Peninsula is a beautiful part of South Australia, and some of the remote coastal areas are stunning. Most of these places do not have easy access to the beach, but I like that. The beachsafe website will give you information on how tricky access can be, and surf conditions, which can be treacherous. ThereContinue reading “West Coast, Lower Eyre Peninsula”
